Father: “We had trusted ‘the system’ to work, but our prosecutor and town council just failed at every step.”
“The story that may be appropriate is one of the top ten occupations that attracts psychopaths is law enforcement. There are multiple studies and articles on the subject. No amount of education and training is going to solve this problem.”
“Pretty soon it’s going to have to be us civilians that are wearing the bodycams to keep officers in check.”

“The lying cop said she refused to lower her window. But the gas station camera clearly shows she DID lower it.”
“Note that this happened months ago and the department didn’t lift a finger about it until the public saw it.”
“He would have totally gotten away with it without public footage. The whole department was going to lie for him.”
“Why wasn’t the body camera on? Criminals don’t want to be recorded. All police officers should demand that they have body cameras for their own protection. Only criminals wouldn’t want to have a body camera on 24 7 .”

The memory alone is very traumatizing. Guaranteed to haunt you for the rest of your life. So sorry for this young women and her Dad and every Dad that watched this and thought about their little girl.”

Had the cop’s camera actually been on (or not hidden by the department), as he claimed (lied?), that likely would have saved him, as it might have shown victim’s (possibly presumed) verbal resistance and/or bad attitude, which might have offset his otherwise apparently overpoweringly thuggish behavior and then quavering explanation to victim. Meanwhile, the victim is lucky she was not shot or worse.
Rule Number One — particularly when enduring any police encounter, keep your car doors locked and windows rolled mostly up.
