Turns out this was Givaudan’s, the company’s / location’s second explosion, after first in 2003.
Givaudan is a global leader in the creation of flavors and fragrances. The Louisville plant that exploded in November 2024 was a caramel coloring plant, producing colorings for food and beverages. Givaudan uses a variety of natural and synthetic materials to create its products, including essential oils, extracts, and chemicals.
